We checked out the Afton Apple Orchard this past weekend. Orchard open 7 days a week 10am-6pm, pick your own apples, find festive apple recipes. Admission $3.00 for 4 yrs and up, 4 and under are $2.00. They offer a playground and petting zoo in addition to apple and pumpkin picking. Raspberries are available until mid-October, and other berries are available via a partnership with another farm. A fun hayride takes you to the orchard. There is a cafeteria to enjoy refreshments.
We picked some regent and connell red apples from the field. The prices are little higher at the orchard than your local grocery store which I am not upset about because you are getting them from the original place.
We visited the petting zoo, pumpkin patches, huge rocking chair, apple orchard, and big playground.
Not only can you go to Afton apple orchard to pick your own apples, pumpkins, strawberries, raspberries, and enjoy the playground, corn maze, animals but you can also have a wedding or special occasion event there. They have a beautiful rental building available November thru August that holds up to 300 guests inside and many more outside.
They also offer a variety of items that can be purchased inside the main building. They offer different knick knacks, apple cider, pie maker accessories, and many more items.
After all we had a great time and my kids really enjoyed their time at the apple orchard. After walking and playing we all enjoyed a ice cream cone from their little cafeteria. Great fall time adventure for the family!!
